February 12, 2009 Springfield vertical grinding machines have long been the workhorse grinder for aircraft turbine components, transmission components, bearing industry components, stationery turbine powerplant components and a variety of precision parts, dies and molds. Bourn & Koch, Inc. is the OEM of the Springfield product line of vertical grinding machines. Bourn & Koch builds Springfield's new or remanufactures worn out models, restoring them to new equipment accuracy and warranty.
Bourn & Koch manufactures the Springfield vertical grinding machines in Rockford, IL. All machines, whether crown or rail type, are equipped as standard with GE Fanuc CNC controls, self contained workspindle, coolant system and tank, single point dresser, gap eliminator, standard grinding cycles, splash guards with manual doors and safety interlocks, and a centralized lubrication system. A +/- 45 degree vertical slide swivel is standard on the 42CNC, 48CNC and 62CNC models. Optional equipment varies from model to model and encompasses, for example:
