Inverted spindle turning offers numerous advantages over a traditional spindle VTL. An inverted spindle VTL is also a “pick-up spindle”. The chuck or workholding device is shuttled over to a conveyor or pick-up location to clamp and hold the workpiece, automatically loading the machine and reducing operator intervention. The chuck is then shuttled back over to the work area, where the workpiece is engaged by the cutting tool. The Motch MVSL has numerous custom workholding options to fit your particular application. Live tooling turret stations are available for milling, drilling and tapping operations. The MVSL can be incorporated with automation to run “lights out”, increasing productivity. Additionally, chips, swarf, and coolant fall away from the work envelope, making chip management easy.
Bourn & Koch manufactures Motch MVSL series of vertical turret lathes in three sizes from our MVSL 200 up to our MVSL 450 capable of swinging a diameter part. Each machine is CNC controlled with servo-motion control on precision linear roller way surfaces and accurate ball screws for easily achieving high tolerances. Our conversational HMI guides the operator through the machining process, reducing specialized training required to run the machine. - The one-piece base and crossrail are constructed of heavy-duty, stress-relieved steel weldment with intelligently applied concrete polymer for additional dampening and to eliminate vibration.
